Asmau Diallo
Biography
Asmau Diallo is a Tswana-Fulani cinematographer and video editor with a knack for creating short & compelling works. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Carthage College with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications & Digital Media and an emphasis on Film & New Media. Her aspirations include writing and directing her own works to tell stories that aren't often considered by the masses.
The themes she chooses to focus on include race, social justice issues, identity, and self-expression. This is evidenced by works such as "Your Voice Is Your Power" and “This Is My Place.”
Looking to explore her own storylines, Diallo wrote and produced a short animated movie called “150 Characters.” A new feat for her, the short explores the difficulties that come with being multicultural and multifaceted. After receiving the Distinguished Senior in Communications award for her video work on-campus, in class, and in the surrounding communities, Diallo is excited to step into the real world as Freelance Video Specialist to collaborate with those that share her artistic values.
