The Christopher's Video Contest
One person can make a difference. How can expressing your own voice be a source of encouragement and motivation for others? In this video, I explore how your voice is your power and the importance of embracing this power.

When given the prompt of "how can one person make a difference," I immediately thought about using something that we all have: a voice. While working on this project, I wanted to create something that I could always refer back to so I can remind myself of my most important power, the power of speaking up and sharing my story.
I started by writing a script that expressed my story. After countless revisions, I developed a storyboard that was a natural visual complement to what I had written. I had to use my creativity to translate my storyboard to real-life by scouting locations across my school campus. I then organized a 2-day shooting schedule to film all scenes and uploaded the footage to my personal computer. While editing, I felt there was something missing. After reviewing the footage several times, I decided to add overlays such as the Twitter feed and the short clip from "Friends." This adds dimension to the video and makes it more interesting to watch. My final steps included recording my voiceover, adding sound effects, and searching the YouTube Creative Commons to find music that matched my intended theme.
